Additionally to the ordinal Vilnius sightseeing tour we would have two stops in amber workshop/gallery and local wool felting house which is a small family business from 1951.
The amber in Lithuania is called “The stone of the sun”. The pagan Lithuanians used to make amulets and jewelry from the amber. During the visit in amber workshop you will hear the history of the Baltic amber, you will find out how the amber is used in medicine and you will learn how to distinguish the real amber from the false amber.
Wool felting was widely used by Lithuanian ancestors in their homes to prepare clothes and boots. The local wool house will present their craft works, they will demonstrate different types of wool, you will know why wool is so popular nowadays.
